If there is one thing we love is a good hip house mix!! Here it is ladies and gents. Tyree Cooper’s Hip House Mix 1!
2. Deru/_/Basically, Fuck You
10. Burial & Four Tet/_/Moth
Warlock & Noyeahno keep bringing us the best of London sounds with style and Noyeahno’s super sexy voice. This couple is for Eletrica, a very good example of consistency, extensive musical knowledge, positive public presence and just plain awesomeness. They are cool, and cool about it. Genre skipping new music from Lil Silva, Dexorcist, Tes La Rok, Fused Forces, Bracket, Mutant Bass, Munchi, plus some random oldness from yesteryear.
Pritchard is truly setting the bar when it comes to pushing limits. When his tracks are flipped, twisted and launched back at you, I see them as an art piece. It reminds me a bit of the character “No Face” in the Hayao Miyazaki film, Spirited Away. A misunderstood creature that seems gentle enough at first, but then devours its surroundings to transform into an unexplained object. Eventually, it throws up it’s contents to return back to form. At times it’s terrifying, beautiful, but in any shape, it always demands the most attention.
His first guest mix was often cited as our best of 2010. He returns for Round 2.

YOUNG MONTANA (COVENTRY, UK)
GUEST MIX FOR ANDREW MEZA’S BTS RADIO
Playful loops, glitches and bubbling bass, Young Montana? is yet another artist of a new wave. An artist of a new generation ready to be taken seriously. Jon Pritchard is the 19-year-old producer behind the Young Montana? pseudonym, and his fast-forward career has been catching a lot of insider attention.
Hailing from Coventry, the West Midlands region of England, Pritchard falls into the circle of artists recently featured on BTS, like Shlohmo, Letherette and S.Maharba, who’ve seem to come out of nowhere and raise the bar in electronic music.
Earlier this year, Mary Anne Hobbs dubbed him her “favorite unsigned artist of 2010” and afterwards, the MAH/Los Angeles connection led to a signing with Daddy Kev’s Alpha Pup label. Pretty good for someone who started making music a year ago.
In what’s sure to be considered another BTS essential, Young Montana? drops this fantastic mix for Andrew Meza’s BTS Radio.

With the release date of his debut LP, Galactic Melt, rapidly approaching, maverick producer Com Truise has leaked album cut “Cathode Girls” to whet our appetites. Maintaining consistency with his previous nostalgia-drenched output, “Cathode Girls” nevertheless reveals that, though Com Truise has a footing in the past, his aim is for the future. The track modulates between two distinct moods: the first, a noodly new-wave synthesizer jam; and the second, a laid-back and blunt-wrapped ode to ’80s electro-soul. The song begins as a disorganized mess of limp analog synthesizer stabs but then slowly congeals around a chorused-out bassline cribbed off Peter Hook. Then, switching modes, a gritty Zapp & Roger synth-bass drops in with a Linndrum rhythm that wouldn’t sound out of place being bumped from the trunk of a pimped-out ’88 LeSabre. Download “Cathode Girls” below and pick up Galactic Melt on July 5.
Last year, dubstep mum Mary Anne Hobbs signed Young Montana out as her “favourite unsigned arists of 2010″. Today, we’re streaming his debut album.
Listening to Limerence, you can see why. Hyperactive from the start, it’s beats music for a generation overloaded with information. The grooves are strong enough to reign supreme, but Montana never lets them sit still for long, cutting and splicing them into a white-hot vision of electronic music turned on its head, falling into new, unpredictable shapes. Yes, it’ll be a bit too much for some, but fans of Hudson Mohawke, Prefuse 73, etc, all might have just found their album of the year.
It’s out now on Alpha Pup; check it out below.
The 1st in the series of ‘Legends Guest Mix Series’ – The Advent need no introduction, one of the finest techno and electro producers in the world. The 2nd in the series will come from Detroit legend DJ Stingray.
Quite an appropriate name for Cisco Ferreira aka ‘The Advent’, a man who has played a big part in the creation and development of Techno from the very beginning of this genre’s history. Indeed, his Techno CV is the stuff of legend.
A classic already
